Running Shoes

Has anyone got any suggestions what what running shoes to buy? I am just a beginner (did W2R2 today) and have got some old running shoes that need replacing. I have extra wide feet and quite heavy footed!

Gait analysis!!! Definitely recommended before buying an expensive pair, though with the shops probably shut at present youmay struggle.. brooks have a shoe selector link if you go on Google and type in brooks shoe finder this may help 👍

I'm trying out the vibram v-runs , great for wide feet. I've had only one run with them so far though but they seemed pretty good.

I also am a beginner. I risked buying on line from Brooks because they offer free returns. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I used their gait analysis suggestions. The pair suggested for me was connect neutral pureflow seven. Of course it will be different for you.I think they are fairly wide as they accommodate my bunions easily! Good luck.. you can return them if they are unsuitable

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help, as well as a link to a post about running shoes.

Enjoy your journey.
