Skipped week 5

I've just finished Wk6 first run, and found it okay but have realised that I somehow skipped week 5 altogether. I don't know how - lock-down must be getting to me! I wonder if I should restart with week 5? Any advice please.

😱 but 😂! Poor you! I think this whole situation is making a lot of us do crazy/weird/forgetful things...

Still, at least you only did the first run. Personally, I would go back to week 5, to be completist!

Happy running to you. 👍

Yes, will do thanks Sadie - feel I'm cheating if I don't!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Remember that you are conditioning your body to the impact stresses of running, which will gently and progressively increase strength and resistance to injury, so it is wise not to take any big steps up, but keep it gradual.

W5 ends with a continuous 20 minute run, so it would be worth doing that before moving on, since W6 ends with a continuous 25 minute run.

Enjoy your journey.
