Can't believe I just found this page... I finished week 5 this morning and am hurting this afternoon... it hurts so bad but nothing beat the moment I finished... haven't run that long since high school 😊
Just completed week 5: Can't believe I just... - Couch to 5K
Just completed week 5
Well done. I am in the same position as you and suffering but getting new trainers tomorrow ( early Xmas pressie ) Strangely excited. Family can’t believe I am doing it.
Up the exercise on rest days and make sure you do the post run stretches too... if you are suffering, then slow down
Post run exercises? My post run information was to walk briskly for 5mins. Have I missed something?
Post run stretches are extremely useful...

As is your non- impact exercise on some of your rest days. If you check out our pinned post FAQ..it's all in there.
Well done! Sorry about the hurts though! Ouch. Are you running nice and slowly? Try not to land too hard, too. Running slowly helps build stamina and strength. And strrrrrrretttttchhh plenty after.
Yeah, can't manage too quick or I feel like I am passing out... think my running style is the problem and I land hard on the floor... do lots of stretching x
Good you are running slow! Maybe next run totally focus on your feet landing as softly as possible. You are doing great, and with each run you grow stronger - and with that you will get less aches. 😀
Snap, just completed wk5 this morning. Well done you! Make sure you are stretching before and after, sorry you’re hurting this afternoon, my aches are usually the next day
Do this before every run!! It’s amazing how much it helps!
There’s a post run one too
Hmm. That's a tremendous amount of stretching for us running beginners. I don't mean the 7 minutes, but 99% of us here won't manage those lunges. So folks, be careful emulating Adriene: don't overdo it and don't be disappointed if you are not as supple! C25K 'official' advice is to warm up with some brisk walking, and do dynamic stretching.
Well done... now just slow down.. after you have done all your post run stretches too!!!
