Week 5, run 3 just completed. That’s a full 20 minute run without stopping,... so chuffed. Laura, ‘my coach😜’ updated me after 5 minutes and I honestly thought I’d done about 10 but I just kept going and by the time I got to the end I felt like I could have gone further. Next run seems to be going back a step though, run 1 in week six is back to incorporating walking. Would it be bad to just keep running?

Aha, the sneaky W6R1! It’s notorious and so many people think it’s innocuous after the fabulous feeling of running for 20 minutes straight! 😀
But it’s surprisingly tricky. If you look back at past posts, you’ll see it crops up frequently and can easily catch people out! It almost got me and I’d had the heads-up!
So no, don’t just keep running, stick with the programme. It’s cleverly designed!
Do not skip... the programme is not just about running..) yes I know it is a running programme:)) it is about the disciplines in our running too...all structured and all useful stuff
Just follow it and know that everything you do is building up the running muscles, your strength and your stamina
Yes it would be bad! Do it as per the programme We don't want to be reading you’re off to the doc with shin splints or what have you Rome wasn’t built un a day, nor were running legs. Wags finger
I was wondering about skipping it too. But I changed my mind and have just stuck with the program I don't want an injury. So week 6 run 1 in the bag . It was okay. I am wondering how I'm ever going to get to 5k distance. I've been using mapmyrun simultaneously so I know I covered 2.84km today in 24 minutes ! I think I walk faster than I run.
W6 R3 looks so easy after running for 20 minutes. So easy in fact I got a bit too big for my boots and changed my route completely and added in lots of lovely inclined to run up. BIG BIG mistake. Take each run as it comes and do as the program says. I won't make the same mistake twice.
