Last Friday I didn’t manage to complete the whole 20 minutes but I’m very happy to report that I did it this time! I need to keep in mind that everyone progresses and builds up stamina at different rates and it just took me one run longer to get to that point, but I didn’t give up and that’s what matters 😊

Super well done AFoodEnthusiast ...persistence pays doesn't it? You are SO RIGHT when you say that everyone progresses at different rates, the C25k programme is 9 weeks but I think it took me about 15!! When I wasn't comfortable with a run I just repeated it until I was and not only did that build my confidence as a runner but it build my stamina too so it was a win win. Your running, your time, your way...and if you're enjoying it then it's definitely working for you...well done, sometimes it's all in your head so starting off in the right frame of mind is important too and completing a run makes the next one a bit more doable...good luck with week 6

Thank you so much!! And I think you’re completely right - it’s your journey and you’re the one who knows yourself the best, as long as you keep on going it really doesn’t matter how long you take or how many times you do a run if you don’t feel comfortable with it. I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t complete the 20 minutes the first time round but the more I thought about it, it just means I’ve had two longer runs now and I think that’s great. Looking forward to week 6 now ... 😊

That’s the way to look at it without a doubt...yes it’s disappointing sometimes but you just have to think about the stamina and mileage you’ve built up and bag it...here’s to week 6 x

Great attitude and well done on completing your run today. Everyone’s C25k journey is individual to them and it helps to have a fluid approach, as it enables you to make adaptations without losing confidence.

The first two runs of week 6 can catch people out as both are a brief return to intervals. Just accept them for what they are and you’ll be fine.

Good work today!
