Starting tomorrow

So the app is on my phone and I’m ready to go tomorrow morning! Quite excited really! Not sure yet if I will go along the footpath (it’s across a field) or round and round the garden.

Good luck on your first run you’ve got this! I’d personally pick the footpath as it would seem more interesting in my opinion, good luck with whichever choice and remember don’t stop, just keep going!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I've been out already to beet the crowds. I found it tough but not as bad as I thought, I'd recommend having music on, you can have that on and the couch to 5k interupts it.

Good luck

Yes I am back now! Next time I will definitely have music on.

Actually it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting and I didn’t see anyone just a squirrel in a tree and a deer in the field to cheer me on😄

When are you planning for run 2?

I'm planning on doing Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday for my runs and will try and stick to that without putting too much pressure so it's a little fun not just something I'm forcing myself to do. Seeing a deer sound idyllic, I'm in Edinburgh City centre so no chance of dear, I passed a lady waiting for a bus and we exchanged smiles. Maybe I'll pay more attention on my next run and see if I can spot a squirrel!

Well done on getting the first one done!

Gardens can get a little monotonous. The only downside of paths is other people, but before long you will have nailed: #1 - path social distancing, and #2 - not caring running past people.
