Went for my first "out in the open" couch to 5K run today after 49 days of lockdown in Spain. It was great to be out in the open and see the spring countryside, hear the birds and smell the country again. Can't wait for more:)

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Wonderful- it must have been so good to be exercising outside! 😄

How great - it must have been really tough staying indoors for all of that time. Enjoy the fresh air and the birdsong!

Thanks for the good wishes. I think I'll remember that run/ walk for a long time and also because it was a perfect temperature, a lovely day after literally weeks of rain. The rain also meant that there was plenty of greenery and flowers, not always easy to find here! It wasn't so difficult as everyone was living under the same circumstances, and I'm lucky that I have a small garden and I live in a house not a flat in the city. It's amazing what you can adapt to if you have to!

Anyway, now onwards and upwards :)
