I KNOW there are posts on gait analysis on here, but I have two questions that I can't find the answers to.
1) When you've had the analysis done, how do you find the right shoes? i.e. if you don't buy them there and then? Are they categorised somehow? I don't understand how you know which ones are the right ones! AND I have wide feet, so that's not going to help, is it? Hobbit running shoes don't exist!
2) Does anybody have any idea where I might get this mysterious magickery done in Spain? I've searched the interweb in English, Catalan AND Valenciano, and there's no mention of it anywhere. Am I going to have to go to the gym and pay/bribe someone to video my feet on the treadmill?
Any help/advice/mickey taking welcomed....

Yes, shoes are generally described in terms like ‘neutral’ or ‘support’ (not sure if there’s a special term for shoes which support people whose feet turn to the outside rather than in (?underpronating). The main thing is to get a pair which are properly comfortable. ASICS are generally quite a narrow fit I gather - I have very broad feet and have got on well with New Bakance, Saucony, and now Mizuno.
If you have a specialist running shop somewhere, they’re probably best placed to give you advice though - go along and have a chat. If you’re anything like me before my first visit, you’ll feel worried about looking and feeling completely out of place, but my local shop are lovely and have never been less than completely helpful.
I have a pair of Nikes at the mo - they’re running ones, (I know this because it says ‘running’ on the side!) and they’re okay, but a bit tight across the top. But as they’re still on offer in the local Carrefour, perhaps I should just get a size bigger....?
If you don’t know of a running shop near to you is there a Decathlon store? I had my gait analysis done at a decathlon store in the uk. Hope you get sorted
Let know how you get on. Just a thought is there a running club in the area where you live? Maybe that’s something someone at Decathlon may know. Enjoy your running.
