Newbie starting W5 in the rain!

Hi everyone

New to the forum

I am starting the dreaded W5 this week & am quite nervous about completing it in the rain given that I've read this one is more of a mental battle

Any motivational tips to run in the rain?

I'm in my early twenties but I've never been a runner or a sportsperson at that. I had put around 4 stone on in the last 2 years & I decided I wanted to have a summer where I was comfortable with wearing shorts again so I decided the C25k was where I was going to start. This programme is definitely doing wonders for me & my confidence by each week that goes by, run by run :) happy to be part of the community

Enjoy your run. I actually prefer running in the rain :) just get into your groove and go for it. Plus side. Nobody out at the moment cos of the rain! Good luck and enjoy 😊

Well done for getting to week 5 and improving your fitness and stamina! This week is really going to show you how much you have improved since the start. I haven't run in the rain yet, but I'm sure it'll be raining when I go out for Week 7, Run 2 tomorrow. My plan is to imagine I'm in a movie and it's a climactic scene and use it to my advantage. Let us know how it goes and give us any tips for running in the rain. Oh also... wear your least favourite trainers and pop some newspaper in them when you get back xx
