Week 8 tomorrow!

Can’t believe I’m starting week 8 tomorrow! I’ve struggled a bit on week 7- had a few practice runs😉 My shins & hips were sore so I’ve been having two rest days between runs and bought new running shoes as I think that’s the issue. I’m really excited to finish c25k but I’m wondering how I can start to improve my speed? I’m on 25 mins but I know I could manage another 5 on that...I just feel like I’m plodding on at a snails pace instead of actually running fast! Advice?

Well done on almost completing C25K, at this stage don't worry about speed, run slowly for the last few runs of week 8 and 9, once you have graduated and ran several 30 minute consolidation runs, then you could try the Stepping stones podcasts with Laura, pace speed and stamina, good luck for your graduation run next week.

I know exactly how you feel especially the shins bit hoping they get used to it I’ve only been doing this a week I’m doing 7 km walks first one took me 1 hour 17 mins lol

My latest is 1 hour 8 mins I’m desperate to get below the hour I tried to run on my last one that’s where the shin issue appeared I had to stop so sore did yours get better

Slow runners live longer womensrunning.com/culture/s...

Why exactly do you want to be faster?

Just an update- nailed my run- first half was tricky but second was a breeze.

To answer your question I feel more comfortable going faster but I can only go at that pace for short periods. Also I find it more fun going at a faster pace
