New Starter - Overweight

Hi All

I’ve been looking online for some advice and found this forum which seems a really friendly helpful place!

I’ve recently started C25k and will be on week 3 run 1 tomorrow. As the times are increasingly slightly in starting to worry/ doubt my ability to succeed each week as I’m about 5 stone overweight.

I suppose I was just wondering if anyone else has completed the programme whilst being significantly overweight, did you need to repeat any of the weeks, any tips or advice?! I know I need to get out of my head and just get on with it but hoping for a bit of reassurance!

I was hoping to lose some weight but need to stop with the biscuits!

Thank you :)

Biscuits were my red light food. Fortunately they’re not now🙂

I lost nearly five stone and started learning to run with C25k when I’d lost nearly four stone. I then lost another stone

If you eat and drink sensibly while doing the programme you should steadily lose weight. You don’t need any extra calories for C25k!

People of all ages, shapes and sizes can do the programme. You’re only going nice and slowly so it’s do-able

Check out the pinned programme notes 😃

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

As misswobble has clearly told you this plan is for everybody.

She didn't tell you that she went on to run marathons.

What will you do?

Enjoy your journey.

I’ve not completed it yet but I’m on week 8 and I’m about the same level overweight... I’m doing fine and not had to repeat any weeks yet. I’m taking each run slowly!
