Today I decided to check out the c25k+ podcasts and went with the first one that does cadence and form training. It was great - i felt it really helped as I have really struggled with pace the last few runs.
I think it was probably a mistake to try to get a little faster to cover more distance in the 30 mins. It just took the enjoyment out and I was back to gritted teeth and never felt like I found my 'happy pace' that I had during the c25k programme.
So this run was a massive improvement and I think I'll stick with the podcasts for a bit. Not sure where my 'happy pace' has gone but I'm sure I'll find it again when I stop giving myself targets....

That's interesting I was wondering what it'll be like when I've completed C25k and running solo. I was thinking I might still use the app to help with timings.
Its not so much the timings as I've got a sports watch to help with that. Its more about settling into a comfortable pace.
For some reason my recent runs have involved setting off too fast and ending up gritted teeth jobs from 15 minutes onwards. It might be because i wanted to cover more distance as a target. I thought that this would come naturally with increased fitness but I think it probably made me go too fast and burn out early.
Funnily enough, it seems once u lose the sense of pace it plays havoc with next runs. So the podcast helped to settle me back down again.
Good for you. Just relax yourself into the runs and I’m sure your happy pace won’t take long to return 😊🏃♀️
I absolutely think you will find your happy pace. This takes a while I think, but once you find it, running becomes a real pleasure. I assume it gradually gets faster but I am only getting faster very gradually and don't care
Thanks for the encouragement. If I'm honest ive had bits of runs that felt wonderful that i think of as my happy pace but I've never managed to click into that in every run. I guess you're right and that will come with experience.
