Apps not in sync?

I run with my son and despite always starting our apps at precisely the same time his is always slightly ahead of mine. No matter what we do mine always falls behind, we start our music before starting the app so there should be no difference should they? It’s very frustrating! We both use Jo so I just don’t know why?

I am not particularly techy, but it must be the devices that are clocking at a different rate.

Solved it - it seemed to be Map My Run that was causing the lag, but using Strava sorted it out 👍
