Tired Legs

After I good run on Saturday I set out with confidence this morning.

Once again I was pleased with my breathing and heart rate which were under control throughout the run. However my legs felt very tired. Perhaps I should have rested for another day.

Happy runnings.

The previous run was quite a long one wasn't it. Maybe you did just need that extra day. So chuffed for you that you've made it a habit. Well done that man! xx

Sometimes I take an extra day just to recharge so don't worry if you have to. Well done for getting out. Give yourself a decent stretch too.

Well done, but how was your hydration.

Well done! Yeah, it doesn't hurt to have an extra rest day, make sure your hydrations up as well, lack of water can make legs feel tired and heavy sometimes.. 💦 I had that feeling Friday and realised I may be a bit dehydrated, so necked more water over the weekend maybe accompanied by the odd wine & beer 🍷🍻 and extra rest day and performed much better today..

I think there could be something in the lack of hydration as I haven't been taking as much on board recently. Have started drinking more since today's run. Will probably take your advice and keep up water intake and give myself an extra rest day.

Great advice from above posters.

I had the same experience 2 weeks ago, half way around my first ever 10k my legs turned to jelly.

Afterwards I realised I hadn’t had enough (?in fact hardly any) water in the previous few days.

I ran another 10k today, only my second ever, and I was so much more comfortable for being properly hydrated.

Happy running 👍
