I graduated in October and have been running 2 or 3 times a week since. I’ve not run more than 5k and I don’t really want to take it any further. 3 weeks ago I developed shin splints so rested for 2 weeks. Went on my first run since on Friday and now have knee pain - google tells me this is my ITS band. So annoying, especially with the lockdown. Does anyone know how long I should rest this for and whether I should start back slowly?

I am not a doctor but it would be wise not to run until any pain heals, if the pain persists go to your doctor

I had a problem with my IT band from cycling and was advised to get a foam roller. Which I did. Rolling out your IT band is really painful - you're supposed to rest on those bits that are particularly knotty - there is lots of advice on line - but be warned, it really does require you to do some deep breathing! I used the roller regularly and things improved and when I was cycling again, I continued to use it after every trip out - and I'm doing the same with running - it really seems to help.
