Currently sat waiting in A&E with a potential torn ligament. (tripped over my shoe not done whilst running) As I was only on week 4 would it be better to start from the beginning again once I can run? People were right this running thing is addictive an I can't wait till I can get back to it.

Tough........it can happen to anyone.

You won't know how far back to go until you are fully recovered, as detailed in the guide to the plan. Anything less than two weeks and you can pick up where you left off. Any longer and you will have to head out for a gentle jog to see what you can manage.

Thanks. Can't believe that I'm actually looking forward to my runs. After only 3 weeks. Guess I'll just have to wait to see what the xray shows

Oh no I really hope it’s not a ligament! I fell down a manhole in India January 2018 in darkness no drink involved, and I did my ankle in and tore a ligament. It was so painful and took ages to get better. My ankle is still swollen, doc says it will probably never go back to the size of the other one. Let us know how you get on, fingers crossed you won’t be on the I c for too long.

Torn ligament pulled muscle twisted knee. Just waiting for the crutches now. I guess it's gonna be a few weeks as they have referred me for physiotherapy

Yes I had physio too, and they were very good, I told them I wanted to get back to being active ASAP. I had to wear a boot type thing, but it was so uncomfortable I put it to one side after a few days and hobbled around as best as I could. Hope you are not in too much pain and that you have a quick recovery. I’m sure everyone will be rooting for you here.

Thanks. I'm just waiting for crutches then I can continue on with my holiday 😊

Sorry to hear that. I tore my ligaments in my right ankle whilst playing netball in school and it was agony. Take it easy, recover well and reassess when you get the go ahead from physio.

Thanks you. Hoping it won't be too long a recovery as I've just bought my first pair of running shoes an was really starting to get into the programme. Eager even lol

I know how you feel. I had just completed C25K last Spring and was enjoying running outside and then got struck down with another ankle injury on the same side as my previously torn ligament. 6 months of recovery including strengthening exercises and I've just completed the C25K program again. I'm much more aware now of what I need to be doing to continue to run with previous injuries.

You'll be back to it in no time and hopefully those new running shoes will be a dream to run in!

I wasn't even running to get the injury. Tripped over my shoes. Sober too....

Even worse when it happens on holiday. Oh how they laughed when I told them about my fall down the manhole, everyone assumed I was drunk! I used to be very fond of the vino and the gin but now a days I’m always designated driver and I’m not bothered about drink at all. Funny how we change as we get older, I used to be mad for corned beef, but I never eat it now. Anyway good luck with the crutches and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Ouch. Sorry to read this. Hopefully it’s not too bad and will heal quickly. Keep yourself as fit as you can as it does, and come back nice and gently on it. Fitness may not go so quickly, but a lot of the strength in that ligament will have gone. Keep up with any physio and strength and flex once cleared to do so.

Give a seated workout a go, I assume you can still do all of this, and it’s a tough workout. bing.com/videos/search?q=se...
