I am starting this again, I’ve had a really bad six months with nagging pains and mental health issues. As a key worker for the government I am finding my mental health, physical well-being and general life has taken a major hit.

So I am after some advice, is it possible to do this as a slow plodding snail in this current lockdown situation or should I wait until we’re allowed to go out for hours on end to get started?

Congratulations on on starting C25K, you can run as slowly as you put it "a slow plodding snail" outside, as long as its not in a crowded place, I hope running will help you get through this present crises lockdown situation.

Respect to you for being a key worker in the unprecedented times! I’ve never been a runner. I started just after I was furloughed! I find it takes me sway from all that’s going on while I’m out on my run! Completed Wk 2, today! I find the encouragement on the app, and the good people on this forum, a big help! You’ll find your own pace!

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you for doing all that you are doing at the moment. I would say, go for it now; running really helps manage physical and psychological stress. The roads are quiet and Spring is beautiful. Just being outdoors will do you good :)

Hiya, good for you getting this far and exploeinf the programme. I too am a key worker and really do get where you are coming from. My advice would be go for it and try your best. I barely walk anywhere, very overweight and asthma... Yesterday I did my first run, I missed one of the minute runs as I was struggling but felt better and completed it. I felt absolutely incredible the rest of the day. Whatever speed you go, you're going 100% faster than you would be sitting it home. Please give it a try, I know it will definitely help and let you reconnect with nature, it's lovely in the fresh air hearing the birds. Make yourself a little promise to start and keep us all updates. This page is simply wonderful and filled with positivity. You're not alone x

Great big thanks to you 👏👏👏for all that you do!

Don’t stop the running now . Running will always take you away from your troubles ,worries etc just for a while. This is your time away from everything so grab it with both hands . Your speed and pace will increase over time but that’s no problem . Just enjoy your runs 👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Take care SG and happy running

Keep safe and well🤗🌺🌸🌼

Hey, I think you should just get out there and try it, see how it makes you feel. Take it steady and if you can’t do it three times a week it’s not a problem. I took longer than the nine weeks to graduate and I did it very slowly 🐌 and am still slow but faster than my couch 😉

This has to be about you but absolutely recommend you stay connected with this forum. There is always someone who has felt like you and can offer really good advice and support. Take good care of you 😊
