Another Day Another Run

Following conversations on here I decided to vary my runs:

Long slow

Short fast (fast being a relative term)

Fartlek

Having ticked off the first two I set out today to try my first fartlek.

I chose my route carefully, long, straight, flat with lots of equidistant lamp posts.

But it didn't work out too well. The fast runs were probably too fast and the slower ones weren't slow enough. I found switching pace quite difficult and my breathing was all over the place. In the end it just turned out to be a faster than usual run but nearly all the same place.

Still it's another run under my belt and another step along the way to running becoming a habit.

Looking forward to my next run which will be a long slow one. I will have to work up to trying fartlek again.

It'll take time for it all to come together so well done for experimenting. Good luck on the longer and slower run-my favourite. Great advice for this on 'The Running channel ' on YouTube.
