Starting again - somewhere.

Afternoon all,

Did c25k last year and finished in October, managed to get up to 8k by December. I was running anywhere between 7:00 and 7:30 per km.

I’ve done the odd run here and there between but nothing of note and only ever done two runs within a couple of days of each other.

I started again, again last night and managed 3.2km at 7:30 but it was a struggle.

I think the challenge for me is mental as well as physical, c25k gave me a safety net that I knew I could do the next run, because I’d managed all the previous runs.

I want to start the c25k again, but don’t really want to start from scratch again if I can help it. Given I did just short of 25 mins last night it seems to make sense to start at week 7, however I’m wondering if I should start earlier to build “proper” fitness rather than just struggling along for 25 minutes.

I’d like to get quicker too but I think that’s a challenge for another day!

Has anyone else had any experience of starting mid-programme and can offer some advice?

Thank you,

NM

As a general rule, people usually say that if you managed to complete a run then move onto the next one! If the nest one is too hard then go back a session
