First run!

I absolutely hate running, but I’ve decided to try and reach 5k without hating myself by the end of it. 😂 I’ve done the odd Race for life, but I’ve never managed a quick time. I’m hoping that with this I’ll be able to run one without too much stopping or hopefully none at all! Run 1 done let’s see how this goes! 🏃🏼‍♀️

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Follow the pacing advice........this is not a race..........and maybe you will find, like so many others, that actually, you love running.

Enjoy your journey.

Hey there!!

I did my first run today too and like you.. I absolutely hate running.. I really really didn’t think I could do the 1st run without stopping but I managed it!! Hope your first one was successful.. keep us updated with your progress.. it will motivate me knowing someone else has started at the same time!!

Yeah I managed the first run and felt surprisingly good about it. I even added a few extra bursts on the way home after a longer walk. Definitely keep me up to date with you too!

Don't worry about running a quick time, just move forward in a running motion. Speed is overrated. Good luck 👍
