Worried about the big jump into week 5 run 3. Is it plausible that I’ll be able to do it? Found this week really tough, especially the 5min runs and I have no idea how I’m going to manage that 20 min run next week!! Has anyone struggled with this?

Congratulations on completing weeks 1 to 4 of C25K, don't worry about run 3 of week 5, the program has prepared you for it, just take that run slow and steady, after you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself.

Was I nervous about starting week 5 with the first ever long continuous run I'd ever done? Nervous doesn't even come close to describing how I felt and I built it up in my head to be an almost insurmountable problem. When I got on the treadmill however I just split the run down in to little portions telling myself if I'd already done so many minutes then I could definitely do at least the same again.

When I reached the 20 minute mark I was exhausted but the feeling of accomplishment was incredible and really spurred me on for the next couple of weeks. Keep the pace manageable and you'll be able to do it. Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the great advice :D

You'll be just fine as J19mills said just look at the whole run in segments it then becomes smaller, drop your pace if needs be 👍

Well done, you're more than half way there. Yes, it is more than plausible that you can run 20 minutes - what you've done so far has prepared you to do that. Just take it steady and you'll be fine - and so proud of yourself when you've done it!

You can do this! Just take it slowly and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I found it useful to break it down, so I'd just run to the end of the road and see how I felt. Then I'll just run to the next lamppost etc etc. It does take some determination, but it's that that has got you this far, right? You will amaze yourself, I promise. 👊

Well done.

There is no big jump into W5...........every W5 workout is shorter than those in W4.

It is all explained here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Hi Lucy97, I've started C25K about 15 times over the past 8 years and always stopped at week 5 because I didn't have the self belief I could do the 20 minute run on day 3. This meant I gave up, only to restart six months later with a decreased fitness level.

I've now finally completed C25K. It took me 10 weeks and I repeated week 5 a total of three times. I did a week of day one, a week of day two, and then I did the full week 5 in the third. I needed to build up my confidence and my stamina. When I completed it I was elated! It is definitely the biggest day of the program in my opinion, and once you go through that mental wall you know that you can finish the program.

You can do this. Go slow, put together a great playlist, don't be scared of failing.
