Week 2, run 2 yesterday - knees killing me. I persevered and finished and they don't feel too bad today but think I might put tomorrow's run back a day to Friday anyway. Is consensus of opinion to push on through or to rest a bit longer?

Knees!

Sorry to read that you are struggling with your knees. Never run through pain, so perhaps rest up an extra day or so to see how you feel. Have a look at the Japanese Slow Jogging technique on YouTube, aimed at reducing the impact on your joints. I hope it helps...

Thank you!

Ice them after running and do knee strengthening exercises between runs. Don’t run again until they feel better.

I was wondering about your trainers. Read the faqs in the pinned posts about shoes. In addition to resting an extra day, the slow jogging video Delly-dot posted will help if you over stride. Over stride was the cause of my knee niggles. Good rest and research.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.

Personally I rested from running a couple of days. But I did strengthening and stretching. I think that’s important. Still not perfect in W3 but I’m getting there.
