The last run of my penultimate week was thoroughly enjoyable. It was hard work, but I really am loving this new found fitness of mine. I'm especially looking forward to next week as the C25K plan draws to a close for me. It won't be the end however, but the beginning of a new chapter.
When I cast my mind back to PE lessons at school, although funny in a way, hiding in woods to avoid a 3 mile cross country race tells a story. During my teen years I loathed running - especially when it felt like I was being forced.
Perhaps if schools back then adopted some structure to physical education, such as this plan, kids could have understood things better and adapted over the weeks instead of being told to just go out and do 3 mile in hailstones.
Anyways, back to this morning. Lol.
The run started with Atlas, Arise by Metallica blasting my eardrums. Its a good job I wasn't running on a road to tell you the truth because I couldn't hear a thing. I think my next investment in running will have to be some bone conduction headphones.
It was another cold morning with the temperature at 4C. It was also raining which was a surprise after the dry fortnight that we've had. With it raining, I didn't see a soul.
The run went really well. Maybe hopping on my exercise bike on my off days this past week has helped? It's certainly something that I'm going to maintain especially for my heart health.
Roll on Week Nine. I'm like a kid at Christmas filled with anticipation. I can't wait π
*The image that I've chosen to share with you this morning is of a mural that was painted in 2018, in my village, to celebrate 100 years since the end of the First World War. The village is on a section of Wainwright's Coast to Coast route, so the mural does attract a lot of attention - especially from our American friends who seem to enjoy the walking route.
