I love this book. Not least because Richards gets injured a lot - and comes back from it with a passion! And because he is persistent and relentlessly adventurous! He also goes into quite a lot of detail about his personal life, which makes it a very human story.
Doug Richards is a veteran runner who did not start running until later in life, and I think a lot of us can identify with that!
Happy reading, happy running, and stay safe and well lovely folks.

Thanks for this, I've ordered it now 😊 I'm over half way through The Pants of Perspective and thoroughly enjoying. Got loads of other books I could / should be reading without buying more. But I'll have plenty of time x
👍 I am very confident you’ll love it, dijep! And pleased to hear you are enjoying Pants. 😁 I have over 30 books queued up to read at the moment, yet still cannot resist buying another if it takes my fancy! 😱 I have little piles of paperbacks piled up around my flat like mole hills! 😂 x
Absolutely loving this book, I had to find more about the Marathon des Sables as it sounded so mad and found several films covering it on YouTube. Half way through and hoping you'll have another recommendation before I get to the end 😉
Hooray! Glad you like it. 👍 There is a documentary about Fiona Oakes (the famous vegan runner) and her doing the Marathon des Sables... not sure where you can watch it now but I will investigate.
And thank you - you have reminded me that I forgot to do a “Recommends...” post yesterday so will get in to it! To be fair, I keep forgetting what day it actually is right now...😕
