This was an early start, but only to avoid the heat that we've been enjoying. It's been almost summer like and is due to last until the middle of next week. It was chilly at 4C, but I soon warmed up.
With tracky bottoms ditched and shorts donned for the first time, I set off listening to The Who sing Who Are You?
I headed along our local cycle path and just after the mile marker I hopped a fence and ran through a deserted industrial estate - it's a shortcut used by many and ignored by security. From there, it was a short distance onto a different section of the cycle path for my return home.
I think I perform better first thing in the morning than at any other point of the day. I always feel more comfortable. I don't suppose there is a perfect time for running, and people should just do whatever suits them best for their circumstances.
This run went really well. Monday was hard work. Wednesday brought about two PBs. Today felt really good - it was slower than Wednesday and presented no real issues. I even finished with a 'sprint' in the last minute.
My recovery time is getting much better with all the running I've done to date, and my resting heart rate is sitting at around 47 bpm. I'm gobsmacked at the progress I'm making. That's 21 runs completed, and each one brings about a smile when I think of how far I've come in such a short period of time.
