Into W 6 with R 1 completed. I can see it’s pushed the duration of the runs forward a little but I did find it a tad easier than the last run because of the walking phases. I’m a little worried that my muscles might need a little longer then 2 days to recover from the increased intensity. Should I trust the programme or give myself extra rest in between runs?

Suck it and see.............some people need more time between sessions towards the end of the plan.

I always took two days minimum between runs. It won't do any harm taking an extra day. Personally, I would try to do some form of core strength exercises on the other days though, even in these difficult times.
Best wishes
I was following the 150 minutes a week exercise routine: 3 x cardio x 30 minutes and 2 x strength session in between. The cardio was walking for me then recently I thought I’d replace the walking sessions with the C25K. So that’s what I’m doing. Couple of false starts from when I first started it on New Year’s Day but now followed it religiously to this point. Long winded way of saying yes, I do strength stuff on rest days in between cardio.
I always took what I needed. I’m 55 and had knee surgery nearly two years ago and I think it was partly because I didn’t listen to my body before.
I often think I’m going to give myself an extra day. Sometimes I do (even a week if I need it) other time I realise I’m absolutely fine.
This time I’ve found it much easier to build up and I think it’s thanks to enjoying the process not slogging through it.
The one thing to watch out for is whether it’s an excuse or a genuine response to pain.
Well done on your run.
