Good news and bad news

So the good news is I ran another 30 minute run today and I think it’s getting easier each time. That and the fact my hip seems to be improving in leaps and bounds.... hardly troubling me at all now. 😄it was very windy but bright and sunny so a lovely run.

I got back from my run to find a note through the door from the council saying would I ring this number, which I did, only to find that one of my lovely neighbours has complained about the height of my new wall I was so pleased with. And it looks like I’ll have to take it back down to the original height. I CAN appeal but don’t hold out much hope. The guy was only round the corner when I rang him so he popped back to discuss it and he was really sympathetic.

I said I hadn’t asked for planning permission as I’d looked it up and it said you needed permission if it was facing a main highway. He said that he’d thought that too but apparently it’s ANY highway. He asked why I’d gone to 6ft high and I explained how every summer the local kids play football from one side of the road to the other ( instead of in the perfectly good park just across the road) and end up kicking their ball in over and smashing my plants. Also I wanted to get new gates as they also use my garage door as a goal. And trample in and out of my garden looking for their ball.

Apparently I have at least a 3 months before I need to sort it so he is going to write to me with details of how to appeal and I await that now while seething gently. He asked me how much it cost me and I said £400 in labour and the blocks etc but there are more things on my mind that that at the mo. Just one more thing I could have done without. And I’m now wondering which ar**hole it was who complained 😡😡

So great you had a lovely run and then spoiled by your letter. Some people really love going out if their way to complain about everything and anything. Good luck with your appeal 🤗🤞🤞
