We all beat ourselves up every now and again, don’t we? I certainly do. The run was crap, I was slow, I couldn’t breathe, my legs didn’t work properly, that hill killed me... BLAH BLAH BLAH. I did just under 5 miles with my GF this morning. It was cold and wet. First 15 mins wasn’t great and as usual, in the second half of the run, I got in to it, enjoyed it, didn’t care it was wet and miserable because I wasn’t at work, I was with my loved one and the scenery was great. I got back and although no records were smashed, we did just under 5 miles. 5 MILES. The reason for this post is this - if you knocked on every house in your road and asked your neighbour to join you for a 5 miler, how many actually would? And out of those, who’d actually make it the 5 miles? I’d bet my pension it’d be a very, very small percentage. So instead of focusing on the niggles and negatives, pat yourself on the back and be proud of your 1 mile run or your 21 mile run. You’ve just done something the vast majority of the public probably couldn’t.

Very well said Price74. 👏👏👏
I’ll never be a fast runner, but who cares? I can run 9k, and I’m going for 10k this week. I’m beyond happy with my new found ability. We all should be, we’re amazing. ❤️
Well said 👏🏻

You don't need to knock every door and ask them about 5 miles, how many would want to run for 1K and slam the door on you face after saying no.

How true! We get bogged down by details - I did last week, but we’re all out there off the couch. Well done us. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🏅🏅🏅
