I don't suppose you remember the distance you were covering at start of week 4 do you? I'm thinking I might be a bit slow.

Do you have Strava Sarah if so you could get to see all my runs if that helps as a guide?? If not I'll go look for that run.....

I'll pm my Strava sign in

Yeah I'm about a km less than that. 5k feels like it might be hard to achieve in 9 weeks at the pace I'm moving. I think if I go too much faster at the minute though I'm going to start really hating it.

in reply to Sarah2706

Sarah, go at your pace that suits you, don't push it so you're not enjoying it !!! Yes push it a little to get yourself breathing a little harder but definitely don't go like a train and leave yourself exhausted..... Lots of people on here get to week 9 still not achieving 5k but the important thing is you can run non stop for 30mins πŸ™‚...

The running consistently after that will see you get fitted stronger and probably faster

Oh and tell yourself you're doing blumin fantastically πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done on your run Sarah

Well done! Whoop whoop indeed!

Don’t worry too much about pace at this stage, everyone is so different you can’t really compare. You can usually sense when your pace has picked up. Best to become intuitive now and feel what your running legs are doing. I think you learn more that way and become more tuned into recognising when you need to ease off or are capable of a little more.

Sounds to me you have it just right for you πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ.

hi, I didn't get to 5K during C25K, but I have gotten to 18k since - it's not a race, it's a time thing, if you can run for 30 mins after the 9 weeks, you graduate - that's all it takes.

I think my first 5K took me nearly 50 minutes, I have since gotten it down to 40, but I'm no where near doing a sub 30 min 5K yet.

I have completed a 7k event and a 10k event and I am happy that I got to do it. I'm even signed up for the Paris Half Marathon which has been pushed to September, so you CAN do it - just don't push it so you hate it and don't carry on

you can push it just a little bit, but you should be able to carry on a conversation (or, a I run alone, I sing along under my breath :D)

you are doing really well, just carry on!!

Thank you that really helps. I was really struggling to see how I would get to 5k in just 5 more weeks. I will take your advice and just keep enjoying it. 😊
