That felt so good!!!!! Not very nippy but 30 minutes!!! I was supposed to be doing wk8r2 but just felt good and kept going. I’ve been doing loads of physio, Pilates stretches etc and just felt like carrying on. Halfway through my run I wanted to give up as I was plodding along Chaddiford Lane. This is one of my “ black spots” that I really have to just put my head down and grit my teeth. It’s not very steep but it is a steady continuous gentle slope that goes on for about a mile. I always feel like I’m going to keel over about 3/4 way along but then I’m just outside the school and there are always a couple of school kids in the vicinity and I don’t like to give them the satisfaction of seeing me give up so I puff and wheeze as I shuffle past them. 😩🤣. Then it sort of levels out for a minute and I relax a bit thinking to myself “ downhill for a bit in a mo” and then you turn the corner and remember there is just a little bit more of a slope up before it starts to go downhill. 😩. But I did enjoy the downhill dash for the short couple minutes that it lasted before I turned into Abbey Road.

This morning I’d timed it slightly wrong and ended up having to do the pedestrian slalom around all the parents and kids trying to get to the Infants school along Abbey Road and then I was past them and heading for the home strait.

It was odd really as I’d come back round and was about 27 mins in and I thought “ I want to keep going ..I’ll just pop in and do a circuit of the park to finish off”. Then as I turned the corner and started to come along the Park’s outer wall I glanced in over and realised that it was flooded!! So had to carry on around the block for the last few minutes. The river had come out over the flood banks and flooded the play area and the path around it where I’d usually have run. First time it’s done that this year. They built the flood defences so that the park floods instead of the town. Strange idea. There were a couple of dads and small kids looking on, obviously planned to come up and play on the equipment. That’s not gonna happen for a couple of days I’d say.

I feel much more positive about my running again since I saw my physio. He gave me some more exercises ( mainly what I’d been doing with my Pilates teacher) and said carry on doing what I’ve been doing. He said it’s ok if it aches - not if it hurts!! Can’t wait for the better weather 😁😁

Welcome back to 30 minutes! 👏🏼 The lighter weather is a real help, isn’t it? More sunshine, please, oh Weather Gods - more sunshine. 🌞 Glad to see your strength & flex work is suing off so well too. 🎉

Oh that's brilliant news Limberlou, well done for coming back from your stay on the IC. This fills me with hope, especially what your physio says about aching being acceptable and normal.

I can hear that parts of it were tough, and remember those feelings, but it's so worth pushing through, I remember that too!

Happy running!😊xx
