Well today was the big day, weather was perfect, laced up the new Brooks Running Shoes at 6am and with Eye of The Tiger blasting in my ear holes off I went. Noticed the difference immediately the cushioning of the soles felt so much better, on my hips and legs, I got into a nice steady stride and with speed cameras flashing like the paparazzi as I went by (might be exaggerating a bit there) before I knew it Iβd reached the park which is at the end of my 5k.
Through the gates I ran, not much in the tank, but determined to squeeze out my last bit of energy I picked up the pace....the music faded out and the small voice from my Fitbit said 5km in 30:25, I punched the air with joyπ as itβs a PB for me ππ not quite under the elusive 30 mins but only 26 seconds out.
Checked Fitbit when I got home and found in total Iβd covered over 10k, walking back from the park, interspersed with running, so I was well chuffed. π
Run 2 with the new Brooks on Wednesday....determined to get to 5k in under 30mins.....even if itβs only once !

Ha ha - always made me chuckle as I did my very slow 63 year old Japanese jogging for just 3 minutes to Eye of the Tiger and Pump it. π Youβre way ahead of me - sounds like youβve earned the right to the tunes!
