Yes, I know I said I’d step back, but I didn’t say I’d disappear completely 😎
Had a good run today despite the normal lack of motivation. In fact it’s my best run to date pace wise, and got 3 Strava PB’s. It’s funny how just when you think you’ve reached your limit something happens and you break through a barrier, usually when you least expect it.
So for anybody out there that’s struggling, just slow down, keep focused, and you will do it!
Saying that, I’ve still got a long way to go till I hit 5k in 30 mins, but I’m going to keep trying until I do 😁
PS. The surgery did not happen as they had booked me into the wrong clinic 🤬 Rescheduled to next Wednesday.

Haha I did think you were brave to be running so soon after your surgery! The good thing is you're able to represent your country with your running 👍 Personal bests - this is interesting - where do you find your personal bests? I don't seem to have any. Have you subscribed or do you just use the basic package?
Glad your run was a good one - looks like the weather was good too!
Yes the weather was fab. Had to take my jacket off after 10 mins and tie it round my waist. Looks like Spring might have sprung 😅
Re PB’s (Strava call them PR) when you look at your feed on the phone app, above your run route map, on the right hand side it will show “Achievements” if you have any. If you click on the run for more detail, and scroll down there is a section called “Best Efforts” - this is only if you have the achievements though.
Well done on your run wenderwoo and a Pb happy running 🏃♀️ it’s a good feeling when you don’t want to go out for a run and then you have a good run and a Pb to boot 👏👏👏🏃♀️👍
Great news on your run and PB. I don't have any as I haven't downloaded Strava, must do it. Good to see you back and good.luck with your surgery (hope they get the right clinic 🤩)
So glad to read you had a brilliant run today Wenderwoo, as I had the opposite! Lovely cheery photo. You are doing brilliantly 😀. Well done!
I started my assault on my nemesis hill today. Six times up to a lamppost, trot back down, rest, up I go again. The dog walkers thought I was mad! Maybe I am.🤔
Lovely to see you in the sunshine! I think the runs do sometimes just come together nicely and it sounds like it went well today.
Managing our expectations is important at this stage, every run is so different! Despite managing over 5k yesterday in way more than 30 mins, I have no real expectations that I'll be able to do it next time. Just have to wait and see if my body will behave!
Good luck with your op next week and hopefully it win't interfere too much with your runs! Such a beautiful day and I was stuck indoors at work all day! Envy!
You’ve more or less read my thoughts. First reaction was “brilliant, broken through the pace barrier”. But that was quickly followed by “OMG, what if I can’t do it next time”! So, I’m going to take a leaf out of your book, and not worry about it, and just keep plodding on, hopefully building strength and stamina - thanks 😁
That's the spirit. It is all very interesting this running lark. The mental battle is the most interesting part! If we can tackle the gremlins then this will make us stronger people generally. We're a tough lot!
Congratulations on a great run. Definitely spring like today, even though I was in a forest on a mountain and it was 1 degree it was sunny and dry! Onwards...
