This morning I went out to complete week 7 full of confidence. Too much confidence. At about 1.5 km I started to struggle to get my breath and my chest didn't feel right. I've had a couple of heart attacks in the past and so know to follow my chest's advice, so I immediately dropped back to a slow walk. Curses!
Later analysis of my GPS data showed that my pace had been much higher than previous runs. D'oh! I hadn't kept my pace down to a sustainable level. School boy error.
Other factors were different about this run to previous ones too - I'd had breakfast and beta blockers only about half an hour before starting - normally it is two to three hours before. And I hadn't felt too great last night.
Now I have to decide whether to simply retry it on Tuesday, or go back to week 6 run 2 for my next attempt.

You have a lot going on frogplate and quite a history. Perhaps it would be best to be cautious and be checked out before carrying on?
Just getting a little ahead of ourselves, that’s all. You sure wouldn’t be the first.
You know your body and whether to check up with the quacks or not.
Regarding where to pick up. I think that you could just slow down and try the same run again in a few days. Having said that there is (unfortunately) not a $1,000,000,000 prize for completing c25k in the suggested 9 weeks. It’s okay to take your time and repeat some of the weeks if that’s what you would like to do.
You’re doing great, you could not have even considered a 23 minute run 8 weeks ago. So please drop the disappointed feeling and wallow in your success. You really are doing great!
Be aware of the time from taking ur beta blocker and running.. I think a wee trip to ur GP is in order before u run again. Better to be safe than sorry 😐
