Week 2 Runs

Heading out for my first Week 2 run. Feeling apprehensive, but hopeful. It took me, er, 3 "practices" before I managed to complete my first Week 1 run, so let's see what '90 seconds' does to me.

Anyone else kicking off Week 2?

And that's done. Must sort out a better bag. I had a small screw top water bottle which slid into the side of the belt bag I had. It started sliding out as I was running so I shoved in my zippy trouser pocket, after which it started leaking. 😝

Fear not - there are many people who have taken a while to get through week 1. I think 9 weeks was one record. You can do this!

Thank you. I think I can. There was a lady running around the park the other way (much faster and more effectively than me, I might add) and as we passed each other 3 times, I did feel a sense that I was also a runner. W2R1 feels a lifetime from barely managing only one single minute of W1R1 (first attempt).

Go slow then slower listen to music or sing in your head and one day 90 seconds will feel very short

Good advice, I'm really enjoying my playlist which helps me keep things steady (alternate 115 and 140 bpm songs for walking/running). 😊

Just did run 3 of week 2. I thought the first 90second run of run 1 was going to kill me. But I seem to find that the first one is a killer and if I get through that the next segments aren't nearly as hard. Go for it SofaJockey!!!!

It will hurt your feelings but you will do it again 2 days later.

A momentary pause in the driving rain, so that's Week 2 Run, run and done. Been flip-flopping about whether it would happen today or not, for much of the day. And closing in on the next minute speed at 11'04" /km (not that I'm actually paying any attention to speed whilst actually running, but it was nice to shave another handful of seconds off).
