First parkrun as a volunteer

Today I volunteered at parkrun as today was my long run day. I got talking to a lady who several years ago started with C25K. She told me she started 3 or 4 times before she got to the end, but here is the amazing part: this year she is running the London marathon AS A TRAINING RUN! In a few years she has gone from struggling to pass Week 3 of C25K to running in a 24 hour endurance event this summer. I just wanted to share for everyone on here who is just starting out and to say that even if you’re struggling, you can do amazing things with some support and determination. Have a great weekend all 😊

Hope you enjoyed volunteering at parkrun today. Isn't it amazing how you meet new people and get to hear their story. Determination can get you a long way. Hope you enjoyed your run also 😊😊

The best thing was that she still maintains getting through C25K was the hardest part!

Wow, that's some training run! Amazing to think it all started with C25K - who knows what we'll end up doing???

I know, and whilst I’ve no plan to run any marathons it’s encouraging to know that this plan that got us all off the couch can take people down so many new avenues 😊
