So last week i was up north visiting my friend who is a 'runner' she took me out on 2 runs with her that week, needless to say i was not prepared for what she had in store for me lol.
I ran 6.5k on the first run and then ran for a full hour without stopping completing 8.5k distance on the second and it felt amazing! I got a personal best with pace too! I had to take an extra recovery day following that but it just shows what you can achieve. I had only just started week 4 too! Her support and tips were invaluable for me.
So i have now jumped to week 6 run 3 today and ran for 25 mins in the rain! Wednesday i start week 7 - hoping i can start improving on my speed to cover more distance for the final 3 weeks on the C25k program. Time to sign up for a 5k race i think!

You did well..but I would advise doing Weeks.4 and 5...running muscles do need time to build..and hidden damage, is just that...hidden...follow the programme and complete all the weeks to Graduation😊
Go you... that is the way to go.... you will be amazed where you get to
Hi Alison - I’m with Oldfloss on this - adrenaline and enthusiasm can really help with your running, but you’ve accelerated probably a bit too much, unless of course you’re a running ringer!
The build up stops you doing too much damage and whilst a stretch can be good for you, it can take up to a year to properly build your running legs. You have a life of running ahead, don’t hurry now, we have seen so many ‘hurrying’ injuries that can really put people off running again.
