Time to read the O.S map more accurately - enjoyed my second run on Wednesday - from my front door, past open farmland and over a ford. Then and enjoyable walk home - the circular route I had mapped out as far greater than the distance I would be covering on WK1R2. However I can now see how this hobby can quickly become addictive - now paying more attention as I read my map and finding many close to home to explore. How have I missed so many treasures right on my doorstep?
Today I will complete week 1 - and I'm (now) loving it.

Since taking up running with C25k I’ve checked out every footpath for miles around my home Any I was unsure about I took the borrowed dog with me to do a recce. We ended up in some daft straits at times but all good fun 🏃♀️🐕. You certainly see much more on two legs than you do from the car
I use Goodrunguide for checking out where footpaths are
You can also take your exploring feet with you when you’re on holiday or going somewhere new for work 😃
It was absolutely inspired 😁. Ten years now. He’s a bit poorly at the moment but I’m encouraging him now We’ve been out today and done a bit. I hope he’ll soon be back to his normal self - pulling my arms out the sockets in his desire to hit the streets
Since borrowing him I’ve shed nearly five stones, taken up running with C25k aged 57,and have since run three marathons He needed someone who could keep up with him and give him what he needed, so I had to up my game, and I did 🙂. We’ve done many miles together in every kind of weather. He loves crap weather 😁🐕.
That sounds iydlic. There a great podcast in the Feel Better, Live More series about the benefits of navigating the outdoor world. Apparently, it helps keep the brain young. Now, was it the one on walking or running? Can't remember🤔🤯. (Obviously not helping me much 😔) Worth looking up though.
Like the idea of keeping my brain young - I had only been thinking about my body and mental health when taking up this challenge. Will look up the podcast.
