BPM reduction - week 6

Hi everyone.

I started Couch to 5k on Christmas Day, and am on week 6 with run 3 to go.

I've become slightly obsessed with the programme and honestly can't believe how these 3 30 min runs every week make such a difference.

I've noticed an improvement in my endurance and some leg muscles coming in! However, I was playing with my Fitbit app and I had quite a shock! My resting BPM has gone down by 10 beats per minute since I started couch to 5k!!!

I am absolutely amazed at how beneficial this programme is and wondered if anyone else had noticed similar changes?

It's amazing isn't it! Blood pressure and resting heart rate have been my biggest benefits. It's really motivating to see the figures in black and white.

Absolutely! I love the feeling of being able to run for longer but when I saw the BPM difference it proved it!

Hi, I have been on a weight loss campaign and trying to get fitter since last June, I did a lot of research to find out that if you lose 20lbs or more you will reduce your blood pressure, which I have, so I have come off one medication. I am on W4C25K and I am also noticing a build-up of leg muscle. My aim is to come off medication altogether, so I am monitoring my BP quite carefully. I am just so pleased I can run now even for 5 minutes at a time😁

Well done! It's great to hear that you are reducing your medication, what a great outcome!

Running for 5 minutes is amazing. In a couple of weeks you'll be thinking "was that it?" when you have one of the 5 minute runs!

Good work!

Well done! I’ve lost 9 pounds since Boxing Day and I’ve noticed leg muscle developing. All the clothes I was about to abandon for the next size up now fit comfortably. I’m only on W5r2.

Wow! Well doen! I've just hit 8lbs weight loss on the scale but that's hand in hand with swimming and weights on off days and better eating habits...plus dry January!

Can't believe all of these changes!
