Continuing motivation??

As a 51 year old none runner this is my second visit to C25K . I’m at w4 . My question is .... last time I finished the app and kept the running going for about a year . I did a couple of park runs home and abroad which were great , but then life got in the way and I stopped . So a year or two later here I am again . When I stopped last time I missed Laura telling me what to do I liked the motivation. I don’t really have the time or inclination for longer runs ... so how do I keep up the motivation this time when I get my fitness back to the 5 K level ? I look forward to your ideas

Oh welcome back! Here’s an idea - once you finish C25K, and are at the consolidation phase, why not try the Nike Run Club app? It has lots of guided runs for different length runs (from 15 min runs to 5k runs etc) and different abilities. Each one has a coach who chats away at you, and many also have famous runners guiding the run. You can, if you want, also play your own music alongside them. I love it. There are also guided “Headspace” runs if you are interested in mindfulness. And...it is free! I always return to NRC when I need someone to talk me through a run.

Have a look and see if this might be what you are after!

PS I don’t work for them! (Reading back, it sounds like I am doing a hard sell! 😂 But it does sound like the kind of thing you are after.)

I also use Nike run club guided runs... and I don’t work for them either 🤣. Having a coach in my ears helps a lot.

Just another idea: I need changing scenery for continued motivation. I used plotaroute.com to work out some local runs and downloaded them to my running app. Keep up the good work.

Yes. This is similar to my method. 👍😊

Was also going to suggest Nike run club! 😁 Or join a real life local running club. I've discovered that they aren't catering solely for county running champions, and they are generally a friendly welcoming and supportive bunch. Look for one that suits you. Good luck!
