Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
Sorry to hear about your knee, but well done for getting out there in the first place. Don't stress about the 9 weeks thing, it's not compulsory! This adventure takes as long as it takes, just do it at a pace you are comfortable with (both in the running and the course completion). I'd say you'll need a couple of extra rest days for your knee to get a bit better, but once you feel up to it, get back out there and see how it goes. Oh, and when you do, don't forget to let us know how you got on.
