Just finished my first run, gosh when did running get so hard. It was definitely harder than I thought it would be. Hopefully Wednesday will be a bit easier 🀞

Hi Katvm,

well done for getting the first run done. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Like you I found the initial run really hard. But keep going - it does get better :-)

And keep posting - you will get lots of support and encouragement on the forum.

Yes, well done for getting the first one out of the way & done, a very important step. All being well you will find things getting easier as you get into this, your stamina will build and you will just get more used to it. If you've read through the forum you'll see one piece of advice cropping up again & again: Go slowly, and then slow down some more. When I started C25K, and before I'd found this forum I thought that 'running' meant going quickly, or at least noticeably quicker than walking, well it doesn't! The difference between running & walking is that when you run, both feet are off the ground at the same time, there is no requirement for speed (that may come later). Have a search for Japanese Slow Jogging video's, they should help get the message across to you, it (finally) made me understand the concept! Good luck with the rest of the programme, and as RSH has suggested, keep posting on here, you will get loads of encouragement and advice to help you along the way.

Thanks, yes maybe I was running too fast. I’ll slow it down on Wednesday and see how I go

You get stronger... with every run... many of us thought we would collapse on the first run.

Slow and steady as you go and enjoy!
