Took my friend to her first Park run today. She's on week 7 and desperately wanted to give it a go.
We did her 5 mins warm up walk then off at a slow jog. Oldfloss you would have been very proud of me! We completed in 48 mins. I didn't mind as I wanted just a little jog before my charity 10k Monday.
I think she's hooked as wants to go again next week!

Well done to your friend . I am on wk 8 and have held back on Parkrun but I did start the course midweek and turned at 14 minutes. It seemed an awful long way to the but hubby said I ran 2/3rds of the course . Something to aim for after graduation.
We have a 20 mins walk to start of our course but I still made sure we did the 5 mins warm up. I was happy to go slow at her pace as it suited me this time.
You do have to be disciplined to run at your own pace at Park runs.
I love the atmosphere of being with 400+ runners even towards the back of the finishers. I usually run it in about 32 mins.
Enjoy your first one whenever you do it and post a celebration picture👍
