Make sure you're going slow and keeping well hydrated 7 days a week. It really helps . Good luck😊
Well done you...it is hard going at the beginning but you will be amazed how your strength and stamina builds over time...just don't try and go too fast...which is what I did and it nearly put me off for good! Take advice of the wonderful supporters on this site and keep slow and steady. All the best
It’s a bit frustrating as I have previously run 5k and 10k’s and even a half marathon but I got an injury after doing the half (I have arthritis in my toe which means I run in the outside of my foot, causing problems with opposite hip) and a specialist told me 5k should be my maximum with very occasional 10k. So I just went into a big girly sulk as I adored doing the half marathon despite the pain, and hung up my trainers. It’s taken 3 years but I have got over myself now and want to do 5k’s again because it’s a fantastic distance that I used to love too. But I am back, starting from scratch and as a 51 year old I have to be kind to my body and do this gently !!
