Hi fellow runners

Going to start my first C25K run tomorrow.

Any tips?

Want to do Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. Wish me luck!

Make sure you have proper running shoes. I had a pair of trainers that I thought were good and they weren't. Ended up with shin splints and then got a proper pair of running shoes; the shop assistant explained my previous ones were too flexible and therefore not providing enough stability. I did co.plete the 5k and now am a regular jogger and 5k parkrun participant. Wish I'd done it years ago...best thing I ever did. ...am fitter, healthier in mind and body and lost a lot of weight. Also started playing netball and I'm 49! 😊 Good luck and stick with it.

Hey πŸ‘‹

Congratulations on picking a start date and welcome.

Choosing 3 non negotiable run days is a fab way of sticking at it. Also getting run clothes ready ahead of time. Post often you will get lots of support here. Your running will be slower than the brisk walk.

Look at Japanese Slow Jogging on You Tube - shows just how slow you can go and it's really helped me. Don't worry if you feel you have to repeat runs or weeks. Up to now I have repeated each week as I was very unfit and am now on my second Week 7. I'm sure you will really enjoy the programme, it's brilliant, as is this forum. Happy running! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜„
