Merry Christmas πŸŽ„

In August I started the C25K as a free way to get fit. My role was very unexpectedly made redundant and I needed to do something g to get me out of the house - it took me weeks, about 4, from downloading it to starting the programme. But I started.

Now I can’t believe the number of positive things that have come out of running. So in case you are wondering whether to do C25K or are procrastinating, like I did - here they are:

1. learning to do what I said I would do for myself. Now I can agree with myself to do almost anything and then I do it! From tidying up before bed or getting up early to make food for the family

2. Not being afraid when out late by myself.

I have always been a scaredy cat at night and this has had an impact on my social life. BUT now I can run for 30 minutes why should I be scared!

3. I am feeling good!

Sugar is my drug of choice. Ever since I was little I have loved everything sweet but something weird is happening to my taste choices. Now I crave salads and meals full of vegetables. It’s unreal. Often I will choose to eat an apple instead of chocolate. In the shops I don’t spend ages pondering over what sweet delights to get. I hardly go down that aisle any more.

4. Hello waist

I haven’t had a waist since 1997 when I had many son. I wasn’t carry lots of e tea weight but I was very straight up and down but not now! Just from the running.

5. Mood management is real

Not having a job to go to is hard - after more than 20 years being the main bread winner. I am not an intuitive house keeper either as my husband did it all those years - so no paid work & no comfort in house work there were days that were really aaaaaaaaaaaah!

But a run sorted it out ...
