Doing it slowly is the only sensible way.
Please read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and follow the link to the article about breathing, which states that it is virtually impossible to exert yourself and breathe solely through your nose. Maybe when you are fitter, you will be able to do so, but at this stage you need all the oxygen you can get, so stick to mouth breathing.
Great you've now completed wk6r1. Don't worry about breathing through your nose as long as you are not gasping for breath you'll be fine. Well done you 😊
I’m just finished week 7 - so I’m obviously no expert. The breathing thing always annoyed me and one of the reasons why I hated C25K when I did it a few years back. One thing that I read on this forum has been such a help; breathe how you want to breathe, whether in through nose or mouth. Breathing your own way helps to be less anxious and offers the oxygen in the path of least resistance (read that in forum and loved it). Because of reading this, I just breathe whatever way is comfortable for me and over the passed few weeks, I have not thought about how I’m breathing at all when running and this really helps me to be more relaxed. Hope that makes sense.
