Week 9 !!
Well, who would have thought it, the last week, just 3x30mins runs to do, and can you believe it, I’m looking forward to it! From that first run, thinking how unfit I had become in 30 years since I last run, to 30 mins, I can only applaud and thank C25K for changing my life.
Ty for all the support on this forum, you have all been a great help.
It has taken me 3 weeks longer than expected due to a 2 week break for a sore Achilles, and another week for the same problem.
I have run too fast, run in the rain( I love it!) but always on the road, I have run against head winds, run in the sun(yes the sun shines sometimes on the Isle of Man)and I love running with music, it’s a must for me! I have run with heavy legs, a cold, and once I felt so “in the zone” I even had a sprint at the end of one run!
I’m loving the peace that it brings to my life. Unlike a lot of you , I don’t have a desire to run with other runners, groups, park runs etc , I just want to step out my front door and switch off from life and run!
I have treated myself along the way to various items from t-shirts, shorts, trainers and even peaked at a Garmin watch, I also picked up a second hand treadmill along the way( still haven’t run on it yet) and my usual clothes shopping now starts with the word “ running” in the search bar.
I always have time in the middle of the day for a run, and look forward to 2020 being my “Running year”
I have yet to decide on a new goal for when I finish this Friday, but love the shortness of 5k and maybe want to work on lowering my time, or on the crazy side, run everyday for a year ! 😳🤣
Ty ty ty Michael Johnson for the encouraging words, and ty to the 80s for providing me with the best playlists to get me through the hard runs.
