As days go.....

this one goes down in history as one of my worst. I had a couple hours of work to finish so put on my running gear kissed Willow goodbye and came home 6 hours later near to tears and a bit shouty Today was bad.....

So we went for a run

Ju Ju’s Magic Plan week 2

As it was supposed to be my day off and we planned to run in the morning in the daylight i was royally p’d off that it was dark.

We went and parked in town and ran along the seafront, 5 minute warm up walk, jog around the pier then a steady run until we were half way in time, turned round and ran back.

Willow started to get a bit of hip pain, the know it all Sola hollered at him that he was going too fast he walked a bit then ran on gently,

Including the warm up and cool down five and a half kilometers done and oh I feel fine now, it’s our Health and Safety Audit tomorrow and barring one important bit of paper it’s all ready for them.

I don’t bother much about speed running and keep saying we must slow down but am a little chuffed that overall pace was 10m per k which is fast for us and we need to go a bit slower for our next long

Sorry to hear you had a bad day! But glad you both got out for a run. I always think it helps, although I must admit I’m more of a morning lass myself (I get a little paranoid when it’s turning dark!) Enjoyed your pic though the sea front always looks amazing at night ☺️

Thanks Jacca, most of it is my own fault for falling behind with stuff but it wasn’t helped by being on training the first three days this week

I’ve cheered up loads now and on the run saw a few other runners going the other way who i grinned at

So great you managed your run after having a crap day. Hope you both are happier now 🤗🤗

A bit fragile still i was near the end of my tether but there was never an option of not running and it gave me time to put it all away, the more i get stressed the more calm Willow gets and we are both smiling at what we did the sea was out the wind almost stopped and the lights shone on the wet pavement it was bliss

Work can be a right pain! It's infuriating how much it can effect other things. At least you got out there even ok not the dark.

It’s a good place to run and i love it when it’s all lit up and glistening, it gave me time to put it all in perspective too

I would love to run in those surroundings. You can be anonymous but it looks so cosy!

Aww thanks Floss, i really enjoy just running along i didn’t have my headphones or even tie my hair up so probably looked a bit silly but no sillier than being at work all day in my running gear

And you may have got more miffed if you ended up doing no run. Sleep well and get tomorrow at work done, then have a great run when you're next ready.

Thanks Xmas Katnap, love that name, I was really irritable and miserable walking down the road to meet Willow but much calmer and happier after the run, by a little way it’s the furthest we’ve been but not the longest our first 5 k took fractionally longer

Like C25K, keep running to a period of time while your body and mind adjust to running. Listen to your body!

We are following the magic plan timed version but i don’t know how long we can keep increasing my work hours are long so am tempted to go back to 30 minute runs, i could go on and on though, i regularly ran 7 miles a night in my 20’s but that was a long time ago

Tricky. I'm a morning person so I can get up and out at stupid o'clock. It isn't cheating to split longer intervals into a morning and evening run. It all adds up!

Selfishly though, each run means a new stunning picture to look at! You could frame that one.

Hope your next run is more of a pleasure

Well done for getting it done in the dark but \I think you need to chill a bit with it - it is nice to jog through a movie world of sunshine, chirping birds and friendly hellos from every corner, work up a mild designer sweat and casually let your immense group of lifelong perfect friends know that you managed a PB / or receive waves of sympathy and support if not the case - in the real world though we run in the dark, get plashed, sweaty, aches and pain, sometimes run slow, sometimes run short but... the key is, still enjoy it/can still see the end goal getting closer and closer - who cares if you didn't run as far/fast as the plan says - it's a guide not the be all and end all - I took two days out to 'play' squash this week - is it a problem ? nope I am rescheduling and looking forward to running again on tuesday when the agony subsides!! - stay on it, take it easy with each other and take pleasure in what you are doing. : )

Recognize so much of these harrassed feelings from when I had to go to work. Really pleased to hear that your run made you feel better.

Stunning picture! Hope the H&S Audit goes well, I bet you'll be glad when that is over and done with. Great that you got out for a run to de-stress.

SueAppleRunGraduate in reply to Debston

Thanks, the audit was actually less stressful than i had been led to believe and we think we scored well, i’m on training tomorrow and off Wednesday so can relax a bit now, running just works for me de stressing, Williw doesn’t do stress

Well done for getting out there. I’m sure the run helped you put your day behind you. I usually run near the beach-and it always gives me a sense of gratitude. Our world is beautiful 🌍

Looks amazing, running on the pier and seafront. Where did you run?

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate in reply to Runawaytrainer

We are on the south coast so it was mild too

Runawaytrainer profile image
RunawaytrainerGraduate

Love the south coast! Used to live there. When you move round the country, the sunset changes in relation to the sea! Got used to the sunset over the sea in the west, but sunset over the land in the east, can't get it to feel right yet! In the south, you see both sunrise and sunset so that's best of all.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate in reply to Runawaytrainer

Sunsets over the land are beautiful but there is something special about sunsets over the sea especially at low tide when the colours reflect in the wet sand
