Just completed week 5r3 ... yay !! week 6 here we come - first post ( newbie ) Thank you for the help & information from all runners .. a small question thou’ if that’s ok .. does anyone run with water & sip whilst running ? I seem to have too, as my lips & throat get so dry , regardless of drinking loads all the time ... but find it distracting whilst running ? Advice please , Thank you!

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on hydration, which is crucial for runners.

Many people do drink while running, but strictly speaking your body is not going to gain much benefit from it on any run under an hour.

Also, carrying a water bottle in your hands can cause asymmetry and tensions in neck and shoulders, so better to use a waist belt to hold your bottle.

Well done that’s a great run to achieve. I don’t carry water but suck a mint or the odd jelly baby

Well done! Re water, I don’t take any with me as I literally cross the road to do my run and I’m only out for 30ish mins and then back home. But I do make sure I drink plenty of tea during the morning (I usually go out just before lunch), and have a good glug of water with lime before I leave the house....
