New shoes

I completed the C25k once, got injured, now on second run through! With the wet weather my old, old trainers couldn’t cope, so I went to Runners Need to get some new running shoes for the gym and some trail shoes for outdoors. They did a gait analysis (30 seconds on a treadmill with new trainers) and I picked a pair that seemed ok, but the trail shoe were not very comfortable. I was sent to another of their shops who had a bigger range. I got there and explained what I wanted and was shown three. I picked the ones with the most room in the bunion area as this is my tight spot. I asked that if I was unhappy with them could I return them. Yes I can, they have a 30 day returns policy but I can’t use them outside and , as they are trail shoes I can’t use them on a treadmill, so I’m sitting staring at them imagining if they will be ok after a 5k 🤔! It’s the zero drop I’m worried about.

I don't know anything about trail shoes. But is it possible to try a very short run on the treadmill to give you an idea of how they feel ?

Yes, it was definitely time for a treat the store staff looked in horror at my old ones! I am going to do a short treadmill run in secret😏
